Staple
Toast. Bacon. Eggs. Staple is a St Kilda café known for simple food done well, in a simple space – done well.
When designing Staple’s interiors, we wanted to respond to a new culture in hospitality where retail, dining and curated interactive experiences come together. Staple’s retail offering does just this, providing our client with new – and more frequent – ways to engage with customers beyond typical café transactions.
Overall, the narrow-but-long 100sqm, split-level tenancy has been designed to feel expansive and bright. Throughout the fitout, we incorporated Nordic style furniture with warm textures such as recycled timber to connect the space with a sense of humble comfort.
The mini providore, located at the cafes entrance, supplies good-quality organic produce from a small curation of suppliers, gourmet deli meats and French cheese as well as household staples like toilet paper and tissues.
Staple was a collaboration project between Georgia Ezra and Samantha Eades.
